Has anyone attended the USF BSN program? If so i would like to know more about it.

What are the classes like?

How long are your days and what ar ethey like?

Any other comments about their program are welcomed

There's a Florida forum section (under the U.S. heading) where you can post questions about Florida schools.

i suppose you are talking about the upper division bsn program. there is a second degree program that has a different schedule, but takes the same classes. i am in the upper division program. the classes are taught by multiple instructors. the classes are usually scheduled two days a week. the longest day of classes i have had was from 8am to 5pm. some classes are only one day a week. later in the nursing program there are online classes.there are labs that help you learn skills. at nursing orientation they will assign you to a clinical team based on your preference. the clinical team you are assigned to is the location you will be doing your clinical. clinicals start the very first semester. clinical daily hours are set by the instructor and vary between teams. the total amount of clinical hours is set by the board of nursing.

Did you go to USF while doing your prereqs? Did you still live on campus when you started nursing school?

Specializes in ER, IICU, PCU, PACU, EMS.

Moved to FL Nursing Programs forum.

I did my prereqs at a community college in Florida. I received my AA degree and then transferred to USF. I commute to USF. I live about 45 min north of the school. I have never lived on campus.

Hi I just applied to USF school of nursing upper division for fall 2012. I was told by the nursing advisors that a 3.7 GPA was the average admittance GPA from last year.

I was wondering if you guys think I have a chance I have a 3.75 GPA and a 3.8 science GPA I never failed any classes I withdrew pass from one class A and P 1 and later recieved an A. I wrote a strong personal statement. I have exprience because I have been a C.N.A. since 2008 and I have volunteered (I was told this voluteerism is not as important by an advisor) someone please reply I'm so excited to hear your replys. Thank You!

Sounds like you have a good chance. What semester are you applying for?
