Hello everyone,

I am interested in applying to the accelerated program for this upcoming year (2014). I am planning to start my application within the next few months and would like to hear from those who have already been accepted or are filling out an application as well. If you don't mind sharing your overall GPA, pre-req GPA and any helpful tips you would like to recommend when filling out the application. Although I am not limiting myself to the U, this is the university I have my heart set on so any information is greatly appreciated. I'm not sure when they will be sending out letters, I thought they would start in September but I guess I was wrong. I have a friend that applied to the miami dade program here in south Florida and their letters begin distributing early October, so maybe we should hear from them soon! I am from miami, so yes I am already living here, thankfully I don't have to stress over a big move. Where will you be coming down from?

Hey! I am interested in applying as well for the May 2014 entrance. I am a pretty new to the nursing career info, as I have switched my career path from wanting med school to now wanting to ultimately be a nurse practitioner. My overall GPA is a 3.2 and I have one last prereq to finish (nutrition). From experience, does anyone know if admissions will allow you to apply with an outstanding prereq class? Hopefully they are in the mail now :-) if accepted I will be coming from Texas and unfortunately be stressing over a big move but it will be WELL worth it! I've been to the Miami area several times but of course there is a huge difference from taking vacation and finding a place to live in a matter of a couple months. Good luck to you!

Hi There. I submitted my application during the last week of September and I just got an e-mail on Wednesday that they have finally starting receiving the Common Apps. Perhaps that is why there has been so much delay...Good luck everyone

I wanted to let you all know about the problem I ran into, because it's possible that many of you haven't heard from admissions for the same reason. If you started to fill out the Common App prior to August 1, your application was deleted because the system read it has an application for the previous semester (not for Spring 2014). This is what I did and luckily contacted admissions and they had me re-submit it without paying the fee.

If you started filling out your application before Aug 1, contact admissions asap and let them know!

Hi guys, I just wanted to give an update. I talked with someone in admissions yesterday and they said that admission decisions will be coming out this week and next week! Good luck everyone! :)
