Hello I'm starting this thread to reach out to potential applicants to the nursing program at SJR State College. My GPA puts me in Category 2 and the application period begins tomorrow and I will be there bright and early to turn in my application 😁

What was your GPA? I'm in Duval, do Clay and Putnam still get extra points? What significance does the HESI have on your chances of getting in other than category placement. It's been long than seven years since I took A&P so they are making me take them over again, pending A's in those, my pre-req GPA should be 3.33. Also, how many seats are available and does the nursing program shut down for the summer. Thanks, I plan on applying for the Fall 2016 term.

Hello my GPA is a 3.0 which puts me in category 2. The college only go by your prerequisite GPA and Hesi scores. If your sciences are older than 7 years old, you would have to retake the course/courses. They only have 36 seats available. To my understanding the nursing program is shut down during summer B term.

This is how the college determine which category you fall in.

I fall in category 1 right now - my scores were 88,88,86 and gpa is 3.5 for my A&P courses - what about you? I'm so nervous !

A&P GPA is 3.5. Hesi score 80,80,83. Prerequisite GPA 3.0 so I'm in category 2. Hopefully it's enough to get in the program...fingers crossed ✌

Is the gpa for admission determined by pre-req gpa or jus the A&P courses only ? I thought it was just A&P.
