Posting of License # online

U.S.A. Florida

This might be a really DUMB question, but when you pass the NCLEX (in Florida) doesn't your license number, address, and other info automatically go online for everyone to see??? I did pass the NCLEX back in Sept. 2004, and 2 days after I took the test, I went online and lo and behold ... there was my license #. But I'm not sure if my friend passed the test. She took her NCLEX in January 2005. She told me that she passed the test, but everytime I type in her name to look up her license #, it comes back with 'NO RESULTS' ... and this is March now. So I really don't know if she is telling me the truth. My other classmates that have told me they passed the NCLEX come back with results when I look them up, but not her. I am just curious.

Respect your friend. Quit looking to see if she has pass or not. Just be supportive.

Specializes in Pediatrics.

I'm not in Fla, but in my state, it is the same as you described. My friend recently took NCLEX, passed, and I checked and it was there (not yhat I didn;t believe it, but I wanted to see her name as an RN!!!)

I think you'll probably soon realize whether or not she really is an RN. Did she get a job prior to taking the test? If she'd suddenly not working, or makes excuses for not working, you'll get your answer.

It's not the end of the world if she failed (but it is devastating when it's you). Just be supportive, but not accusatory of her status. In time, she'll confide (if there's anything to confide).

Yes, I just wanted to see her name as an RN too and be happy for her, not that I thought she was lying to me when she told me. Well, she is not working as an RN right now ... she is volunteering on a med-surg floor so I think I have my answer. I'm not accusing her of anything. It's never been brought up. I just wish she would be honest with me so I could help her ... and yes, you're right, it's not the end of the world.
