New grad jobs? Tampa-St Pete area

U.S.A. Florida

I just graduated in December with my ADN and have my LPN (no experience though, went straight back to school for RN). I can't find a job! Does anyone know of a hospital that takes new grads, or nurses without any experience? I need help! Thanks for any advice you could give me.

I feel your pain! I just got my RN license this month and have been trying to get a job too! I called around the hospitals and was told that the new RN internships have already started in jan so the next one is not until may. I am like man i hope i don't have to wait til then. I have been looking online and some RN positions say experience preferred not required and those have been the ones i have been applying to. So try Brandon hospital. I also spoke to someone at TGH and they are suppose to be having a critical care internship that starts next month if the budget is ok so i was told to check there website everyday. Good luck i know i need it too!

It's tough out there right now! Just a warning though... I worked for an HCA hospital before, and I wouldn't do it again. They are a nightmare and a liability to your license. I have seen way too much to consider working for them under any circumstances. Be careful! I have many horror stories!

I hope you find something soon! Good luck!

WOW thanks! You never know until you talk to people........Any agencies you know of accepting new grads? Well i guess I will keep praying and asking GOD to lead and direct me and i know i will find something soon. Thanks for any info you have!

I have been pretty much everywhere in Tampa, St Pete and Clearwater and haven't found a hospital job yet! I'm at a loss right now too. Mental health facilities might be your best bet. You could look into Operation PAR, a detox center in Clearwater. They don't pay well though ($18/hr for RNs). It's better than nothing..... I'm pretty sure DaVita Dialysis would take a new grad, but.... they aren't much better than HCA. The options, or lack of, SUCKS right now! I wish I had an answer for you. Good luck with the job hunting!

I agree with TPA CW Shelley. Might look at other non-hospital options for jobs. Think maybe a rehab facility, nursing home, or out patient clinic? Good luck!
