Help!! Is Keiser University a rip-off???

U.S.A. Florida

Hello Everyone!

I am in need of some serious help! I considering attending Keiser University for the Nursing program. I attended their Nursing session, since I have already taken all the prerequisites. At the session, I learned that they are indeed accredited by the NLNAC on a "regional" level, and I would be able to attend UCF afterwards to get my BSN if desired. The problem I am having is that Keiser does not have a favorable reputation. I've read some horrible things online about them, but not sure to what extend they're true. I would hate to attend this school and waste all this money to later find out it was a waste of time and money and no one will hire me after.

The only reason I am even looking Keiser's way is because the college I have taken all my prerequisites at has decided all of a sudden to change their program requirements, which is really unfair, but that's another topic.

I am hoping someone on here can shed some light on this school for me, or knows of someone that has attended Keiser's nursing program and can give me some advice. I would hate to throw my time and money away on an education I won't be able to put to use.

Thank you and hope to hear from someone soon! ?

Hey, Madsa! I applied to Keiser for FBSN program for Winter 2017. I request my transcripts from my current college (Broward college) and they are being processed. I got my AA degree in Arts at BC. First, I met with a counselor at Keiser to follow many directions, she made an appointment for my interview. You have to present three letter of recommendations for the interviewer, I wrote an essay and then the interview it was not so bad, I was very nervous of course, but I believe it's where I did best. Best of luck!

Hi Dora,

Do they require your have medical background, like volunteer in a hospital for a while? I don't have any volunteering experience in hospital so I have no courage to set up an appointment with admission counselor. When will you know admission result? Best of luck to you!!

I'm in my 3rd semester at Orlando. I submitted all my transcripts and my TEAS score and had my interview w the director and the dean. Dean asked mostly about support from family and friends. Nursing director asked about why I wanted to be a nurse, support system. Idea of what nursing is.

For Fast track program, you don't need to take TEAS exam. Dig Tox!!

could you tell me about your experience at Keiser?

Hello! Did you ever go through with the program at Keiser? I'm actually on the same boat. Im finishing up all my prerequisites at Keiser and the school I wanted to attend changed a few things and so I am considering Keiser's nursing program. I actually really like Keiser University! Just don't know if to trust the bad reviews or not. Thanks!

Hello! Can you please explain how this works? I'm on the same boat and had no clue of the workforce solutions. Thanks!

Hi I know you posted this 4 years ago and possibly you may not even read my response but in case you do or anyone that may know this same information I wanted to know why you had to retake micro if you don't mind me asking. The reason why I ask is because I also plan on attending Keiser but plan on finishing all my prerequisites at a community college instead since its cheaper and then doing the nursing program at Keiser. However, I am not 100% sure if the micro class will be transferable or computers per say. I am being told two different things from an advisor at Keiser and don't know what is true. Do you or anyone else know? Thank you in advance!!

I don't know if you are still looking into this, but I took Micro this Summer at a state college/community college and as far as I know, Keiser is taking it. I am going to speak with my admissions counselor tomorrow to confirm all of the prereqs have been completed (aside from the one class I am taking right now).

I graduated also from a community college. Finished all my pre-requisites while getting my AA degree.

Mostly, students complain about how expensive it is for just getting associates in nursing. Keiser is been better I guess because for the same amount of their tuition for associates in nursing, you can get a bachelor in nursing only for 16 months as long as you have a degree and 60+ credits. It is their new program called fast track.

Is anyone attending Keiser or has graduated in 2019 -2020? I would like like to know how is the 1 class a month schedule like for preq? Give examples on how many chapters are you completing in a week? Are you managing jobs, family etc. along with the classes? Are the professors helpful and prompt with responding to emails?
