Florida Compact License upgrade?

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Has anyone done the application to upgrade to Florida Multi-State (compact/eNLC) license? I just completed it earlier today but it wasn't very clear on instructions. I completed and paid but it didn't tell me if I need to have fingerprinting done or not. On the main page it says if you haven't had fingerprinting in the last 90 days that you'll need to have completed again, but on the actual application it says nothing about instructions for fingerprinting or next steps. I've had fingerprinting done for other states recently, I'm sure that doesn't count, but at the end of my application I wasn't prompted or instructed to obtain LiveScan.

Where did you go for the application??

Florida Board of Nursing - Licensing, Renewals & Information

MQA Online Services

You just log in to your current license and then there's a drop down menu where you can apply for "Multi-State Registered Nurse Upgrade Application."

I did it today. The steps I did for the upgrade:

1. Go to MQA Online Services and log in. Choose Manage my license and select Multi-State Registered Nurse Upgrade Application. Answer the questions.

2. Pay the $100 dollars. FYI, it shows the breakdown for test application and license application something like that. But there is no exam. I called the board and they said there is no exam. They are trying to fix that problem. The multi-license cost $100.

3. I went to Palm Beach county sheriff's office to do the live scan fingerprinting. Tell them the ORI#EDOH4420Z, I paid $15 and they gave me a paper that says electronic fingerprinting transmittal. You go to the website Civil Applicant Payment System (CAPS) and enter your TCN. I paid $60 for that.

Now I wait.

But were you prompted to do the fingerprinting? I should probably just call them but didn't want to be on hold for hours. I was never prompted after the application to complete fingerprinting and there is no mention of that when I check the application status. Where did you get the ORI# from?

I followed this Florida Board of Nursing >> Nurse Compact FAQs - Licensing, Renewals & Information. It tells you about fingerprinting and ORI#

[h=3]What ORI # will I use if I need to be fingerprinted to upgrade to a Multi-State License (MSL)?[/h]EDOH4420Z

Do I need to get my fingerprints done to apply for the upgrade?

The Board of Nursing will accept Livescan fingerprints completed within the previous 90 days of applying for the upgrade. If you have not had your fingerprints done and sent to the Board in the last 90 days, you will need to be fingerprinted

I submitted my fingerprints on the 16th using the code EDOH4420Z. It cost me 79$ I think it cost more for me because I'm currently in Virginia for a few months. Either way, on the website it says you must have done fingerprints within the last 90 days

Hello, I'm from Miami, FL and still waiting for my eNLC license upgrade. I had the same steps as gdj. I submitted and paid my application last Jan 26, and as for my fingerprints I scheduled my live scan appointment on Jan 30 through daontis where I chose the nearest UPS from my house and paid $79.85. Will give an update when I receive my license.
