Dsc nursing program? Or not.

Hello all.

Forgive me, I am super stressed. I'm two semesters away towards completing my associates degree at Daytona State College. However, I am panicking because I am no where close to an acceptable gpa to even be considered for the program. I have not taken the teas test because I feel like I'm not ready for it just yet. If I do somehow achieve an acceptable gpa for the program, I was told that most students that are accepted have to travel to the Palm coast campus for the program. which is something I can not do. Is there something I can do?

Hello, KalaW. Welcome to allnurses.com, the biggest and busiest nursing network on the Web. I know you're going to find what your'e looking for here.

It sounds like you have quite a difficult situation on your hands right now. I can't offer you any specific advice but I can offer support. One suggestion I can make is to contact the program directly to find out about the Palm Coast angle. Then if it's true that those accepted have to travel there, you'll have one fewer thing to consider. If this turns out not to be workable for you, do you have any other options? Could you start investigating them? I wish you the best.

Hey there! I'm currently in my last semester of nursing school at DSC. There is a campus located in Palm Coast. Your first semester you DO NOT get a choice of what campus you want, however they try to put you at the campus you are closest too, but unfortunately there are more people who want Daytona campus than they can accommodate so there is a chance you would have to go to Palm Coast. Sometimes you can find people willing to switch campuses with you before the semester begins and there is always the option to carpool. I live in Flagler Beach and actually went to the palm coat campus. After your first semester you will get to pick a campus, but registration opens at midnight and its a free for all and again Daytona is always the number one choice until you get to fourth semester then everyone wants Deland campus, because of the instructors.
