Central Florida Nursing Programs

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello!I was wondering if anybody out there might have some input for me. I'm currently enrolled in an RN program in NY. Unfortunately I've been put in the position where i have to relocate to Florida by mid-June. I'm looking forward to the move, but I'm not so happy about leaving my program. :-( does anybody know of any RN programs that accept transfer students? I'll be living in the Lake Mary area. I'm a single mom of four (in the middle of a divorce) so it's imperative that I graduate and try to find employment as quickly as possible. I'm in good standing at my school. I believe my current GPA is 3.8. I already have a BA in psychology. The ing thatnconcerns me is that I'm currently taking microbiology. While it's a prerequisite for my program, they make exceptions for degree holding applicants so I was accepted before completing it. It appears as though that could be a problem when it comes to applying to programs in Central Florida. Another concern of mine is the TEAS exam. I wasn't required to take it in NY but it appearsnto be a prerequisite in FL. Any advice? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any in for would be grately appreciated! :-)

I just graduated from Nursing school and microbiology was required with a passing C or higher before even applying for the program, so Im not sure how that would work out for you. Definitely look into Valencia College ( There were a couple of students that transfer from another school) UCF and South seminole for RN programs but you might want to call them as well. TEAS is a nursing entrance test so if you are already in a nursing program I dont think you would be taking it, not sure because I took the NET test to get into the program. Good luck!

Check out Remington College of Nursing located in Orlando/Lake Mary....they're program is 12 months and CCNE accredited and FL Board of Nursing......The TEAS in my opinion is fairly easy even without studying especially if your fresh out college.

Program starts in July
