 good night fellow nursing students.. well ive been on vaca for three or four weeks now and then i realized that ...... hey! i start ob this fall:cry:... great great great..... soooo i looked at the very unspecific calender, then the very heavy big ugly red book and thought to my self ......:vdgmg:hey maybe i should start reading !:urgycld::urgycld::thnkg:

so as i drove my self crazy tryna sort things out i realized that there is nooooooo way in earth that a person can read this whole 200 pages for 1 little test and then i remembered i had such nice people:specs: on this site that have taken ob and can give me a run down..... because it cannot be that bad:cry:

...... can it .?+ so anyones :twocents: will b:nuke:great

lol fun with smileys

Yes, it is that bad. There's a lot of info for OB. You will read every page in that book and study her notes from her packet. My advice is to buy the packet and find a friend who successfully completed the course or tutor to help you sort through it and organize it b/c the packet is a mess. Also, I'm sure you've heard that she doesn't provide a reading list. So, you have to consult the index to figure out what to read. After each test, I would take an entire day to just organize the info for the next test and make a reading list.

By the way, you may be registered for OB but in specialties that doesn't guarantee you a seat in that class. If there are a lot of students registered in this course, who are in their 3rd or 2nd rotation and if you are only in your 1st, you will get removed by the dean and placed in one of the other specialties. Just giving you the heads up.

thnks... bumed ........ :zzzzz

You can get through it. Just plan it out and read in the book all topics discussed in her notes.

besides reading the red book, when i took ob, i also read the supplementary reading book called 'maternal newborn nursing' reviews and rationales. it's a great book that gives you summary and important things to know about each topic. it helped me get through my class. this was my first class and clinical rotation after giving birth to my daughter, she was one month when i started this course.
