Attn: Florida Hospital, Bayfront, and Tampa General ER nurses

I'm leaving Baycare (mobile pool has no ER jobs!) and looking to pick up work at some other ED's, but don't want to to go HCA because I like keeping my license. So, nurses who work at the FH, Bayfront, and TGH: what's the deal? How are staffing ratios, how's the unit culture, do you like it?

Any input helps. Thanks!

Why areyou leaving Baycare? Check out Morton Pl for an easier scope on things. I have a ggreat friend at TGH and hear positive things about their ED. She says that things in the ED are congenial and pleasant for the most part. She says the doctors overall are very well trained and their attitudes are above what you might have expected elsewhere?? The Doctor First at FL Hospital Tampa are a total scam. I have had 3 nurse friends hired there and that have since left on their own accord. First off, uou don't see the doctor first so the patients are even more irritated than what you might be normally used to?? Apparently, lying to the patients and to their clinical staff is the way they do things at the Adventsts Hospital which FL Hosp Tampa is one of. Lots of issues there since they hired a new dicrector of nursing from virgnia? Wjile I am sure not all of the stories are true lots of them sound pretty bad and have been confirmed by friends that work there. I hear they have been so desparate in the ED and the ICU they are paying up to a $20-25K sign on bonus. So if you do want to venture out to that (bad) neck of the woods, at least make sure you get your bonus!! Good luck. Hope this helps.
