Anyone went through Florida Hosp. GN program?

U.S.A. Florida

I would like to hear from anyone that went through the GN program at Florida Hospital. How did you like it, did you feel it made your transition from new grad to nurse more smooth? How do you like working for FH? Any recommendations or help would be appreciated. Thank you

Are you about to start the program? I was recently hired into the GN program at Altamonte, I don't start though almost two months

Hi! When was your interview? I was told they are still finalizing GN needs and I should hear somehthing soon. I got through prescreening and am waiting to see if I get a call for an interview. I am not from Florida so I was hoping I would get a call soon so I can make a decision if offered a position. Are you excited? How was the interview??

BeMurphy,

I was also wondering the same things. The recruiter told me this past week my resume is out to the different hospitals and if they want to interview me, I'd be contacted. Did you apply to individual jobs to get an interview and the job? I too am out of state but feel God is calling me to Orlando. I especially want Pediatrics! Thanks for any info you are willing to share.

I want pediatrics too!! lol. The recruiter told me the same thing. :) Good luck to you i hope you get a call soon!

Cab3f,

Good luck to you too, even though you are the competition! ;) Hopefully we will become co-workers!

My Interview was two and a half weeks ago, I interviewed with only one branch of Florida Hospital for one unit (though I applied for several) so that in mind, other branches may be looking at your applications and the hiring processes would then be different. I am very excited, I graduated in December and was starting to get a little disheartened with the whole process so this is really exciting. The interview it self was more practical and welcoming then any I went through in California, I enjoyed being given the chance to go through a case study with the nurse manager and nurse educator in-order to demonstrate my knowledge. I wish you the best of luck!

After my pre-screening call it was at least two before I got a call to set up an interview. I was traveling to the area to visit family later that month which they were willing to work around and I think explains part of the delay between screening and interview. When I applied, I applied to the GN program as a whole and honestly randomly picked my top location choices as I was unfamiliar with Florida besides Orlando. I wish you a lot of luck with Peds, I too love working with children.

Well thats awesome congratulations!! I graduated in December as well and have found it very frustrating that i havent been able to find a job. I have two degrees and noooo job lol. Doesnt make sense. Are you from Florida? What area will you be working in? Thanks for the information!! I really appreciate it and good luck! :)

I had my prescreening call over a month ago. I applied 3 or 4 weeks before the start of the April program so i think they knew I would not be able to relocate and get my license in florida in that short of time so they suggested the June or July program. So i feel like i have been waiting FOREVER! lol.

Hello! I had a phone interview or "prescreen" about a week and a half ago. I am from out of state but FH is my number one choice! I am getting so anxious! I applied to multiple positions but my heart is saying Women's Services or Pediatrics. Do you know if we will hear from them either way? The HR recruiter said they will know how many they will hire in two weeks. That would be this week! Also, if we made it this far, what do you think our odds are? I wonder how many applied, interview and hire? What are all of your backgrounds IF I get this position I will be in need of some friends! (I am moving 1000 miles away from home!)

Also, what does your jobpage say?
