Hi,

I am getting ready to enter an LPN-RN bridge program soon and would love to get into ALL Children's Hospital RN residency program. I am wondering if there is anyone here who went through it? What was your experience like? Did you get to pick your specialty and did you stay in it the whole time you were in the program ex:NICU? How many spots are there and how competitive is it? How much did they pay while you were in the program and did your pay go up once your 6 months was up? How much tuition reimbrusement did you get for the 2 years of additional employment with them? Did they give preference to current employees? How early should I apply for the program?

I am a former PICU tech employee of All Children's and am now going for my RN and would love to work at this hospital again and pursue NICU nursing. I am a hoping to land a pt job as a NICU tech to gain exposure/experience to the field while in school and increase my chances of making it into the RN residency program and being hiring on.

Also if there is any ACH NICU nurses I would love to hear more about being a NICU nurse at ACH and what role do your techs play in the NICU?

Thank you!!:D

Okay I can't answer the majority of these questions. All I can say is that it would be a good idea to go back and work there as a tech. A friend of mine is a tech there and will be applying to the next residency program they have since she is graduating soon. She said the last residency class (i think it was january)... they had 10 or 11 openings and all that were hired were the ones that were already techs at the hospital. So they definitely seem to prefer people they know. And I'm pretty sure there were a lot of other applicants that didn't work there, from what I know it's very competitive and there aren't many other places around here hiring new grads. Good luck! I hear the new hospital is beautiful!!!

If I may ask, do you know how much the Tech's make? I actually volunteer their.

I was invited down to the interview day at All Children's Hospital for the New Grad RN program but was hoping anyone had more information about the process? I am looking for more information on starting salary for New Grads at All Childrens? I was also hoping to hear from someone who has worked there and their experience. Thanks!

newgradneu13 - congrats on your invite! I also received an invitation to interview but also do not know what to expect. Does anyone know how many applicants they invite to their RN Residency Interview Fair? Thanks!
