Starting RN salary in Dayton, Ohio

Nurses New Nurse

Is anyone out there a recent graduate in the Dayton, Ohio area and can tell me the average starting salary for an RN?

Hi I'm a new RN in Hamilton, Ohio which you probably know is about an hour away from Dayton. In the small town of Hamilton I started out at the Health Alliance on a med-surg unit at $21.25 with $4 shift differential. I hope that gives you an idea. Other hospitals in the local area not including Cincinnati I've heard start you out $1 less.

Specializes in Neuro.

My starting salary was $22, which seems to be about average for Dayton, unless you're looking for peds (which pays less)

I started at $21.25/hr in Cincinnati.

A couple months ago I attended at synopsium for Grandview hospital which is a part of KMC network. They start their nurses out at 22 and some odd cents an hour...Hope this helps

Premier Health Network is starting RN's out at 22.50 hour. 2nd and 3rd shift get differentials. I am wanting to say 2nd shift, during the week is 25.88. Weekends pay more. PRN is even better pay.

I see the last post here was about a year ago, I was wondering how things are looking now? I sthe pay still the same or has it changed one way or the other?

Specializes in Home Health, Oncology, Geriatrics.

I would also like to know what the current pay is in Hamilton

I do not know about Hamilton's currect pay, but I talked to a nursing recruiter at one of the hospitals in Dayton and their new grads start at $23.25. That is for day's...I don't know about the shift differential.
