New Grad now!

Nurses New Nurse

Published

i am now officially a new graduate nurse! i was pinned today and it was great! after my finals it did not feel real. now that i have been pinned it feels real because my instructors welcomed me into the fold! now i know what it feels like to be on the other side. this will definitely be my motivation to study hard for boards while working full-time. :w00t::clpty:

I kinda understand how you feel, it's kinda like ok what now, but like one of the other post mentioned I believe it's due to all the adrenaline decreasing now. You know although I'm appreciative of my accomplishments and new role, I've not had much time to enjoy it yet. It really hasn't sunk in yet that I actually have a career now. One things for sure, whether good or bad, change is hard for anyone. So keep that in mind with all the patient teaching you'll be doning. Good luck!!!

Specializes in school nurse, SNF, peds.

I am new grad too I got pinned on Dec 20th ohh it feel so good to be home and play with your baby. No more books, no quiz, no Exam. I feel so relived but soon will be studying for NCLEX-RN

i remember you too mixy!!! can you believe it has been this long??? it feels like a life time ago i was taking pre-reqs. nursing school, although short, is not sweet. but the accomplishment of completing it successfully is feels good!! i left so many good people behind, but i am one of the ones who made it through, as i promised myself and my family some time ago! and like you, i am not bored... i am still riding the newly-pinned high!:D

i know, i can't believe the 2+ years have flown by...but at the time it was soooo slow and painful! lol

ikwym about losing friends... my close friend who i began the program with did not pass 4th semester and we lost 7 right at the very end. :(

i remember pinning my acceptance letter up in my office, then each semester i would pin up my grades... now i have my honor's graduation tassle and school lapel pin displayed on my bookcase!! it is a reminder of how hard i have worked to get to this point... a graduate nurse!! :)

i'm sure i will be seeing you in the nclex forum and first year nursing forums too! :yeah:
