Malpractice Ins??

Hi everyone!

I will be starting my hosp orientation in a couple weeks. I was just wondering, do most nurses take out their own malpractice ins (or add extra) to cover themselves?? I'm not exactly sure where to turn first, and was hoping I could get some advice from those of you who know. Are there specific companies I should be looking into to take out a policy? (God forbid I will ever need it, but I want to make sure I'm covered none the less!!)

Thanks in advance for your input :)

I am a staunch advocate of liablilty insurance for nurses.

You can look into NSO. Afforadable.

I have it through NSO. $45 for first year, $89 every year after that. Low cost for peace of mind.

Thank you both for responding!! I just checked out the NSO website, and yes, it will cost me $45 my first year (1/2 price for new grads).

I think this is the way to go, and very worth the $$ considering....!!

Thanks again for the help :)
