Is the ATI comprehensive test similar to the practice tests? Any advice how to study?

Hi everyone! Although I have been reading on this site all through nursing school, I just officially became a member today! I'll be graduating in May and we've had to take the ATI tests throughout school for each class. Now, in order to graduate, we have to take the comprehensive on Sunday and I am absolutely having heart palpitations. I have been taking the ATI comprehensive practice tests and I was curious if anyone remembers if the practice tests were similar to the actual comprehensive tests or is it just completely different?? Any way to really study for the comprehensive? Thanks everyone and look forward to hear from you!!

In my experience with the comprehensive, it was very similar. In fact, some of the same questions i did in practice appeared on the comprehensive. I know that the questions are chosen at random, but on my test, and the others in my class, there were tons of management, priority, delegation and psych questions. Of course, there were meds, disease process, etc. It is fortunate that you have taken ATI throughout school. We did HESI up until the last semester, when they decided to spring ATI on us..we were very upset because we had gotten used to HESI. I studied by doing the review questions online and the disc we received, but there is no way to really prepare. Just do as many practice questions as you can, pray really hard, and do your best. I am sure you will do fine!!

I too am studying for the ATI RN Predictor, so I'm doing what I did for Med-Surge, Pharm, Maternity, and Peds. I would take both practice exams and study my weak areas. I passed all of my ATI's with a level 2. I hope this helps and best of LUCK!

We had to take the predictor a few weeks ago, and it was much easier than I had anticipated. It is similar to the practice tests. If you have been taking ATI exams throughout nursing school, you'll do great. They prepare you well for the predictor. Good luck!

can someone help me with ati i have to take it in may please

I took the ATI comprehensive in March, was really worried because depending on which level we score, we then have to do Saunder's Nclex questions as a make-up (its the dean's challenge for seniors, must complete or will not graduate). However, I did not organize my time correctly, therefore did not prepare very well. When I did take the test, i was surprised because it was very easy! Totally not as hard as our exam questions, or even saunder's questions. I would say to freshen up on topics, but i would not take too much time out of your regular studying. P.S. I am not an A student, and I did score a Level 3. Good luck to you, congrats on graduating!

Take every practice once. Hopefully you have good short term memory, some of those questions pop up again. The comprehensive is overall "easier" than the specific tests. The national average is like 70% as opposed to the normal 60% on whatever topic ATI test.

I took it last December before I graduated and passed with 98% possibility of passing Nclex. I have to say that the comprehensive is very basic compared with Med-Surge ATI. The questions in the test don't ask for any in depth answers. For example, how to use bulb syringe, CBI, the med of osteoarthritis. There're 180 questions altogether, but only 150 questions count. Good luck!
