Finding clinical sites for FNP or WHNP

I have applied and been accepted into the WHNP program at U of C and the FNP program at UNCW. Can anyone from either program talk to me about the availability of clinical sites? ive been told that can be one of the hardest parts. I live in Raleigh, NC and of course would prefer to stay local.

Also, even though it has been asked a lot.... can anyone offer insight into working in the world of women's health with FNP rather than WHNP? I have worked for 10yrs in a women's health setting and would like to continue post grad school. I'm considering the fact that FNP leaves the door open to other professional settings while still allowing me to pursue my passion of women's health.

Thank you in advance!

I'm not sure about finding clinical sites in your area. But, I went to a program in which I had to find my own sites, and that was HARD! So, I suggest you go ahead and begin that process before you get anywhere close to clinicals. It will probably relieve some stress for you. Best wishes to you!

what happens if you cant find a place, or if you go to a clinical site and they seem that they dont want to teach at all.

I don't know.... basically, I have to submit a clinical site by Sept 1st for clinical placement beginning Spring 2018. It seems like programs have students find their own sites these days.
