Chemistry?! Pls help

Nurses New Nurse

Hi,

the reason why I'm not posting in the pre-nursing forum is because I want to hear from people who already went through nursing school to find out who of you has taken chemistry in College (as a prereq?) and how it helped (if it did?). The reason for my question is, that chemistry is NOT one of my prereqs, only A&P 1 and 2 and Micro (and of course all the other ones like psych, English etc...) I had chemistry in high school but I don't remember anything. Did you need it for any classes ? Nursing school ? PLease help, I still have time to take the class.

Thanks,

Julia

Hi There!

Chemistry was not my favorite either but I do think it will help you understand some terminology w/fluid and electrolyte balances etc. Also dimensional analysis (the dreaded moles) will be very helpful if you take pharm calculations (the set-up anyway). Honestly, if you have gotten through micro you will definately do fine w/chemistry. I think with chemistry - you have to think "out of the box."

Good luck to you.
