I'm excited but worried and stressed at the same time"/ I guess we'll see what happens. My husband told me we won't know anything til march, so now it's just a waiting game...I am not quite through with EC. I am waiting for a date for CPNE. That is the last thing left for me to do. It took me a year to complete all the nursing theory classes. I have been eligible for CPNE since Sept last year but I didn't have a valid CPR card and believe it or not....that's one of those things that you can't get overseas. I tried to get the hospital at the base to let me get re-certified but since I wasn't an employee, no go. I had to wait to get one and it delayed me applying for CPNE. Hopefully you'll get stationed somewhere, where you won't have those problems. It's great and sucks being overseas.

- Mar 2 by panchie2meHey everyone so we just got orders to Misawa Japan. Just want some advise from EC current oversea students or EC vets. Should I start EC now? Or wait til I'm overseas? Does anyone know how doing EC from overseas works? Such as where testing sites are located? Any information would help... I just don't want all the pre requisites that I took to expire, nor to be over there without being able to find a job and doing nothing allowing my skills to wither... Please help!
- Mar 2 by LunahRNAs mentioned in this post -- http://allnurses.com/excelsior-colle...ce-808335.html -- you can use this link to find a testing center: Locate a Test Center
Otherwise, doing EC is pretty much the same, with the exception that you won't have the option of driving to your CPNE. - Mar 2 by panchie2meQuote from LunahRNThanksAs mentioned in this post -- http://allnurses.com/excelsior-colle...ce-808335.html -- you can use this link to find a testing center: Locate a Test Center

- Mar 3 by panchie2meI found out that Misawa has a testing center for EC exams on base... And I also just found out that there are space A flights to settle, WA so I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a clinical testing site for the CPNE in Washington??
Any info would be really helpful..!
Thanks
Franchesca - Mar 3 by LunahRNUnfortunately there are no test sites in Washington State. There are sites in Texas, Wisconsin, New York, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. You can view them on EC's website if you're logged in, and you might have to be enrolled to see them: https://my.excelsior.edu/group/curre...ng-a-test-site. You could use Space A to get to Washington, then go from there. However, as anyone who has ever flown Space A knows, it can be nerve wracking to have your travel plans up in the air, especially when it comes to getting somewhere on time. That might not be the best choice, or you might want to leave days in advance to give yourself plenty of time. Do you have any relatives in the states I listed where there are test sites?
- Mar 3 by panchie2meQuote from LunahRNI thought about that and fortunately space A flights go out from Misawa to Washington about every week... However your right I would plan in advance better to be too early then late or crunched for time... I have family in Florida"/ so I don't know I guess I would have to figure it out!! Anymore info you have bring it on and thanks!Unfortunately there are no test sites in Washington State. There are sites in Texas, Wisconsin, New York, Pennsylvania, and Georgia.
