Excelsior Total Cost of ASN?

Nursing Students Excelsior

I called Excelsior today and what's advertised online differs from what I was told over the phone. May someone please tell me about the estimated cost for the ASN program by testing out. Also, how's the clinical aspect for GA residence? Thank you...

Where did you see costs online? You can use tuition estimator tools on EC's site: Excelsior College | Excelsior College Costs & Financing

To get an accurate assessment of which classes you would need would require applying and having all transcripts sent.

Some Georgia graduates would need to complete a preceptorship before licensure. You can find information about various states' requirements on EC's site here: Excelsior College | State Board Requirements

Thank you, PixieRN. Did you go to Excelsior College? And if yes, how long did it take you to complete and where are you now as far as nursing is concerned, if you don't mind me asking.

Yes, I graduated from EC in 2008 with my ASN to become an RN. I entered the program as a paramedic. I have been an ED RN since 2008 and I also have a BSN and now an MSN in Nursing Informatics. The ASN program took me one year, one month, and one day to complete.

Oh wow that's true commitment! I think I will apply but my only concern is the preceptorship for the state of GA. According to Excelsior, they have about a 7-9 month wait period. I'm still a bit confused as it RT the clinical aspect of the program. I'm an LPN with over two yrs experience but GA requires a preceptorship of either 320 hours or 2.5 days RN, that's where I'm confused. I emailed advisor in hopes of clarification but if you can share any knowledge it will be highly appreciated. Thanks...

Sorry for all the questions! How did you manage to gain more RN experience? Did Excelsior provide you with the RN clinical experience you needed or did you get it alone with a third party company, etc?

Thank you, you are awesome! I think you should be an advisor/counselor for EC [emoji3]
