Excelsior ASN... Credits transferable to another school?

Nursing Students Excelsior

Hello

I am graduating from a LPN program in January and I am trying to decide how I will be going on to further my education. I have done online research but I think that first hand info from those of you that have already been there, done that, really is the most valuable. I want to get my ASN and as most of you probably know bridge programs are few and far between and they take forever to get into. I have been looking into excelsior because of this and I am wondering if anyone has a story they wouldn't mind sharing with me about their post excelsior experience??

Some of the things I am curious about are how easy (or hard) was it to get a job as an RN with an excelsior degree?

Were you able to get your BSN from a different school and transfer the credits that you earned at excelsior?? (Nursing and non nursing general ed?)

What would you of liked to of known before you went through excelsior?

Thank you so much in advance for sharing your wisdow with me ;)

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

I applied to and was accepted by three different RN-BSN programs as an EC grad. EC holds regional as well as NLNAC accreditation, so there were no issues. I didn't go to EC for my BSN, but I'm back there for my MSN now.

Employment is tough for all new grads right now, EC grads or not. But here is a great thread with success stories, mine included: https://allnurses.com/distance-learning-nursing/excelsior-grads-where-217472.html

Welcome to allnurses, and good luck with the rest of your LPN program!
