CEN Practice Questions

Anyone know of a good place to get CEN practice questions/test? I've got a book (Pass CEN) that has some, so I don't really want to pay for more, but it'd be great if there were some more out there. I find that I do best by doing lots of practice questions. Not only does it help cement my understanding, but it bolsters my confidence when I start getting a lot correct! Starting NP school in the fall (I'm also planning to take the CCRN this summer!!) and I'd really like to have this under my belt before then!

Thanks,

Bryan

Did any of you that did a practice test do so before reading any study material? If so, how'd you do on it?

Guess not.

If you use any ENA "official" practice tests (either in their book or online) you should be able to extrapolate how you'd do on the "real" test. Although in the foreward of the book they do make the disclaimer that passing the practice tests does not "guarantee" that you'll pass the real thing.

I tell my students to take one of the ENA practice tests and then grade it.

If they score 80% or more then they are "good to go" on that section

If they score 70-79% then they need to do "moderate practice" on those topics

If they score below 70% then I tell them to focus the majority of their study time on those topics....THEN, go back and re-take the test after some focused studying and see if the scores have improved in those "weaker" areas....then repeat the process again until all sections are scoring above 80%

NOTE: I do not tell them to spend time on the "Psych/Social" (6 questions), "professional issues" (7 questions) or "Maxillofacial/ENT" (6 questions) ...if any of these are below that 70% threshold...a person statistically will NOT fail the exam if they fail one of these sections because they carry so little weight.

Yes, the exam is changing in July.

The CONTENT is not changing, just a "re-balancing" of the questions is all.

There is only a 5% total change in the exam.

@mwboswell thanks so much for this breakdown. Hoping to test VERY soon but testing before July would require a looong trip for me, so glad to see that I can still use my current materials and simply change my focus. That was very helpful info!!
