New Grad with BSN seeking DNP

  1. I recently graduated with my BSN in May and have been working in the ER at a Level One Trauma Center for the last 7 months. I never thought I would say it... but I'm ready to go back to school. I want to become a FNP and feel like getting my DNP would be my best option. I would really like to go back to school only once. I would like to go into primary care and possibly education. So, I have a couple of questions for you guys...

-What DNP programs do you recommend for RNs with 1.5-2 years clinical experience? This is the amount of experience I will have by the time I hope to go back to school. However, I feel like I get a lot of experience given the amount of patients and high acuity that I see in our ER. I was required to get a lot of certifications within my first two months of my job (BLS, ACLS, ASLS, PALS, NIHSS).

-Do you recommend online or onsite programs?

-Where are the 'best' DNP programs located? I would like to stay in the Northeast of the U.S. if possible.

I have been looking online for information but thought you guys would have some good advice. Thanks.
