LPN Pay/Salary

Specialties Urology

I am a new graduate nurse. Lpn to be exact. I have a job interview with DCI inc. Soon and I was wondering what the average salary for LPNS who have no experience are there. The job is in South Carolina. I also would like some advice about this type of nurse specialty! I'm very excited and hopeful about this.

Thank you for all input :)

Specializes in Nephrology, Dialysis, Plasmapheresis.

When I lived there a few years ago RN's were making $22-26 at clinics, LPN's were more like $16-23 based on experience. If you stay with DCI long term, you can get raises, and better retirement benefits. In South Carolina, LPN's have to get a special certification to push heparin and to access dialysis catheters. That would be hugely beneficial to your value at a clinic. You would be taking care of a pod of patients, usually 4-5 in the morning, then 4-5 new ones in the afternoon. It is a very fast paced environment. Multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management are essential. It will take you a good 6 months-1 year before feeling comfortable at the job.
