First let me start off by saying that I am not a nurse. I am in the Air Force and I am taking classes trying to work my way up to being a nurse. Then why am I here? I am an IC sufferer and I thought that I could probably just let you know how things were from a patient's side.

I have had DMSO treatments and they have really helped me out a lot. When having it administered to me they mix the DMSO "cocktail" with the anesthesia in it, otherwise it would be very painful. After they inject the DMSO they tell me to try to hold it for as long as I can. With each treatment I get, I can hold it longer and longer and I also can go through the day without having to use the bathroom as often. It might be different for other people but for me it has really given me a lot relief.
