Thank you.

In Maryland, you will have to obtain a CNA first, then be trained in an approved DT program. The DT programs are basically the training CNA hires receive when they are hired by Dialysis clinics; after the training they can take the CCHT exam and apply for the DT with the Board of Nursing.

However, you may want to look into getting a nursing license instead. Foreign-educated nurses can apply for licensure, but have to have their transcripts and credentials reviewed and take an English proficiency exam.

Hi, i am foregin. nurse too (Indonesia), my situation is same with you, this what i did, i am taking dialysis technician program and in mean time i am prepear for my nclex exam, so after i graduate my program i can look a job as technician and if i pass Nclex Ijust need to transition from ptc to RN position. These are my Dialysis Teacher said to me, I have 18 months to take Technician Certification, but if I pass Nclex I dont need too. If you want, you can apply for "Star Progarm in Davita website. Hope this short information can help you.

In California, all you need is a high school diploma and I've seen techs be hired with just that qualification.
