Are you implying that people are perfect then? Cause last time I checked, I'm not...and I'd venture a guess, you probably aren't either...so to imply that people make mistakes, I think is a reasonable implication. They do make mistakes...happens to the best of us...you asked why I didn't answer her questions?? I'm not a dialysis nurse, and to be honest with you, I've been a nurse for 10 years and all this dialysate questioning and answering...its like I'm trying to learn Japanese...so I offer you this, maybe its not that she is not listening and believing your responses, maybe its simply she still doesn't understand it...You are, I'm sure, well informed experienced nurse who was taught all about dialysis and dialysate to perform your job well...You probably know it inside and out...You are speaking to a person who has minimal exposure to or maybe not a great understanding of how the machines work and what the whole dialysis process is. It's like trying to explain to a non-medical professional the physiology of the heart using hospital jargon...just because you understand it doesn't mean everyone understands it the same way, or even at the same level. Also not everyone learns the same way...I am a visual learner...I like to see things done...put my hands on it...so someone can sit and lecture at me for hours and I may come out with only small amts of knowledge, put me in a physical situation, I learn much better and may come out with way more knowledge...Not everyone is created equal...and I think there is certainly no reason to answer with such hostility...regardless of how a question was asked...this site is for everyone to learn...I have learned alot from what people post on these forums, both positive and negative...I just hope your unpleasantness doesn't carry over into how you perform your job or how you interact with your co-workers that aren't sure of something...
I guess you've read all of the OP's other posts here and you read Earle's also. The OP doesn't want to learn.. She continues to ask the same nit picky questions again and again until she gets the answer she wants ..

I didn't say I was perfect.. I said with every post she makes she infers that people are making mistakes left and right..

We asked her to try dialysis to learn more. She doesn't want to. I believe she is an RN so I don't believe my jargon is so far above her head.

As for my nursing abilities you have no right to question them.. And as for my teaching abilities the techs and the other nurses are eager to learn.

    Big difference...

I have a suggestion for you, RRN.......

I noticed that you are new to this board. There are many posts to read and enjoy. If certain posts or members of this board bother or anger you, perhaps you could ignore them. That way communication and learning are not stifled because all are free to post and answer at will without fear of persecution. Thank you.

    Right after you.....

2 months is new?? Do you suppose I might have engaged my brain by reading here before opening my mouth?

As for persecution.... as long as the OP continues to discredit MY peers I will defend them.

this thread is closed for a time out and for moderator's discussion.

it is strictly against this bulletin board's terms of service to engage in personal attacks. personal attacks from one member to another is not tolerated here.

also, this is a bulletin board is not a medical information board for lay people. it's just simply not set up to be one. this site's intended audience is nurses and nursing students. it exists for nursing professionals of all specialties to network and share information. if a non-medical person gleems information from reading the theads and posts presented here, fine. but if a lay person has medically and technically involved questions, it is recommended that they seek information from more appropriate sources. although there is a wealth of expert information to be found here, this web site is not an appropriate source of medical information for lay people. this is just a "fyi" for everyone.
