I have been out of work for past 4 yrs. I would like to get back into dialysis. My last 10 yrs. of employment was in an acute unit. Was thinking of trying chronic outpt. Has anyone made that switch from acute to chronic? Did you like the change? Pro's/cons? Is anyone out there from Columbus Ohio area who knows of any outpt. centers hiring PRN/ RN's, let me know? I can't find any jobs in the papers related to dialysis.:roll

Hi...Sportmom

Try this web site first to find dialysis units in your area.

http://www.esrdnetworks.org

When you find which company is in your area then try these sites:

http://www.davita.com

http://www.gambrohealthcare.com

http://www.fmcna.com

Those are the big three and you will find a list of openings on each of their sites.. FMC doesn't post as many staff positions as the others..I believe they have openings and are just now posting them...

Good luck.. Remember outpatient units can be busy busy busy and be large. Not the one on one you might have doing acutes especially in an ICU setting... I love chronics myself..

Thanks ESRD. I went to those sites and there are no posted jobs right now for RN'S. I will keep checking back.

Personally .. I'd call the units themselves.. Sometimes that's the better way to go.. And at least put in an application...Can't hurt..

I am a travel nurse. I only do chronic hemodialysis.

I work for http://www.foundationenterprises.com

also a small company in Cali.. http://www.qtstaffing.com does mainly hemodialysis

You might try http://www.davita.com they are trying to start a travel division.. Of course they called me in Sept of 02 and they still don't have the program up and running. They are looking for a recruiter for the program.. They want an HR person... HMMMMMMMM Maybe you should think twice on that one.

Fresenius asked me about traveling when I first started and have been "thinking" of starting a travel division.. Their website is http://www.fmcna.com They called me begging for me to work the two weeks around Xmas in RI.. I don't have a license and they couldn't afford me anyway. Not at that time of the year.

If you talk to Foundations ask for Joe.. Tell him his favorite traveler in NC send ya..

Hi, I put my resume on Monster.com and have gotten a lot of calls from headhunters to traveling agencies that will work to find you a job in your area. Actually recieved a e-mail from Gambro Healthcare from my monster posting. Good Luck. I know you'll find something. :p
