San Quentin ? from a non-nurse

Specialties Correctional

Published

Hey all! You all are the closest thing I've come to finding people in my field! I'm not a nurse, but i am an x-ray tech, and I'd love the opportunity to apply for a position that is open at San Quentin. I have my state application for (678) filled out, as well as another form that asks what location(s) i am interested in working at. I guess I am a little confused about what an "exam" is? That sounds like a silly question, but from what I gather, you have to take the exam (it's not available online for this posting), but for the life of me I can't seem to find any information on how to take this exam, and where at. I get into an endless loop that sends me from the jobs.ca.gov site, to changing prison healthcare, to a third site, and none of them seem to have the information i am looking for!

have any of you experienced this and if so, can you possibly point me in the right direction? i am one frustrated girl right now!

i know it's a stupid question, but any help would really be appreciated :/

They evaluate your education and experience through the state application and give you a score. Click on the job on this link. Then send your app and the other form to the address provided

California Correctional Health Care Services - Allied Health Care Careers

in the bulletin.

phew! i guess i did it right! from the jobs.ca.gov site where i originally learned of the job or on a form it said something about "county you would like to take the exam in" or something similar. filled out app and exam form and mailed them off, now i guess i get to play that fun waiting game!

this site has been really great, i hope i have as positive of an experience as everyone here seems to have! thanks for the help!

They shouldn't take long. I'm in the waiting game too for another positions. It's so anoying :bored:
