Finding Correctional Jobs

I wish thier was a one stop shop for correctional jobs across the states. I work in traveling nursing and enjoy the correctional eniviorment but find it difficult to find my next job with the same travel employer. Does anybody have a address to a web site that includes all states? I am interested in DOC and local jail envirorments and do any of the federal prisons hire from staff pools or have their own staff pool one can sign up for? Or is it a security issue for them to hire from a staffing pool? I found a correctional medical.com site to post my resume. Do you think that recruiters look at sites on the web or do you think they wait for us to come to them?

Any ideas?

Believe me they are LOOKING for YOU. However, sometimes it is difficult to find the right person. There are so many websites with resumes, applications, etc., that weeding through them is a huge job. So any help you can give them, I am sure they are much appreciative

Here are a few I know about correctional medical services... I am not real sure on website, careerbuilder.com has some listings type in nursing jobs in corrections. The feds have postings in local papers where they are and you can go to bop.gov and there are some links, but I worked for the feds for over a year and it was the worst experience I have every had, not the inmates but the nurses I had to work with. Also if you go to the local government sometimes it has postings or links. If you have anymore ?'s just ask......:)

I work for CMS now and have been for the past 5 years.I did leave for a year and a few months and went and worked in the federal sysytem and the old saying is true the grass is not always greener on the other side. I like working for CMS the benfits are not the best but we are working on fixing that. I work at night in medical housing and I have worked days but nights there are less people (coworkers) to deal with. SO I hope this helps anything else just ask..........
