by jan286 Jan 24I applied to Naugatuck Valley's nursing program and am waiting for my letter, but thought I would start researching stethoscopes. I know Littmann is one of the best stethoscopes, but there are so many different styles! It is a bit overwhelming. What stethoscopes do you all recommend for a nursing student. I am not worried about money, because if I get accepted, I will be buying my stethoscope before I leave me job at the end of the summer. Also, does anyone know if Naugatuck Valley requires you to have a specific color?
Also-what shoes do you recommend?

Also-what shoes do you recommend? - Jan 26 by CT PixieQuote from jan286I love and swear by my Littman Classic. I've had it since LPN school in 2007 and even with constant use over the years it still looks brand new and I've never had any problems with it.I applied to Naugatuck Valley's nursing program and am waiting for my letter, but thought I would start researching stethoscopes. Are you asking if NVCC requires a certain color stethescope? I have several friends that went to and graduated from the NVCC program..all have different color stethescopes. If your asking about scrub colors..then yes they have specific colors and brand. I believe they are blue, but you'll get that info when you are formally accepted into the program.
I'm pretty sure all my friends had to have white shoes/sneakers. If they allow any brand I'd say go with the ones that YOU feel most comfortable in. I swear by Nike Shox, but that's me..I also love my Dansko's. Some people despise both Shox and Dansko's and say, love New Balance..I hate New Balance. Buy the shoe that you have worn before that don't bother your feet in any way. - Jan 28 by jan286Thanks! I knew about the scrubs and that the shoes had to white. I started looking stethoscopes and there are so many-it made my head spin.
- Jan 30 by WannaBNurse23Yes you can be unique with your stethoscope. I think I'm going to go with the Littmann Classic S.E II. it seems like it will be good for nursing school & into nursing career according to all the reviews/reasearch I've been reading. GOOD LUCK!
- Feb 2 by russodemI have a Littman and it's awesome. I've also heard really good things about Ultrascope but I've never used it personally. For shoes I would go with Nursemates I have a pair of their white clogs and they have a mattresstop on the insoles. They're cheaper then Danskos by a lot and they've lasted me throughout my nursing school career.
