has anyone taken genetics?

i am thinking about applying UCONN Mbein program. they require a genetics course. i was thinking about taking it either at a community college (Bio 260 - Principles of Genetics) or maybe online from BYU (it costs $423 not including books, etc.). i have a few questions:

1. How hard is genetics? I have to get a B and i have heard it is REALLY hard.

2. Has anyone taken genetics online? I am nervous it will be too hard.

3. Has anyone taken it online somewhere else? money and time are an issue for me.

Check into it first with UCONN. I saw on their MbEIN page that they are no longer accepting online classes for certain science pre-requisites. I didn't think it was hard; it was actually interesting. By comparison, Anatomy and Physiology was more work.

I have heard that online courses can be harder as they do require a time committment, vs. attending the class and you are done for the week. Some online classes require you to log in to discussion forums so many times per week, and to participate. You are monitored as to your participation. If you are comfortable with that then online is the way to go! I prefer to go to the classes, but that is just me! Hope this helps!

I forgot to mention that I got accepted to the MbEIN program class of 2010 Storrs. I did all of my pre-reqs at a community college. If it were me, I would take genetics at a community college. I did my undergrad at UCONN, and I was a genetics major. I am not sure of your situation with time; I can tell you genetics at UCONN meets 3x per week during the day. Two days for class, and one 3 hour period for problem solving. At a community college you may be able to get it in the evening, or a hybrid (class online, lab / discussion period you attend at the school). Just check with the UCONN school of nursing MbEIN page to see what is acceptable. If it's not clear, you can contact them.
