UCD adding new prerequisite

U.S.A. Colorado

I just heard from my lab partner that UCD is adding Chemistry as a prerequiste for their nursing program. I am absolutely livid because I am taking (what I thought was...) my last prerequiste, Microbiology, now. It is not posted on the web site yet but is apparently going to be in effect for the application period which ends Oct.15. Thought I'd pass this on to anyone else who was planning on applying in August and hasn't taken Chemistry. I do not have the time (I work full-time) to pick up another class for the summer .

OK, here is what I have heard. I went to the last information meeting on Aug. 7 and I have also talked to several people in the nursing office. I have copies of emails; friends of mine have also received the same information.

IF ALL previous PREREQUISITES ARE COMPLETED now (stats, A&PI and II, and Micro) you can take Chemistry this fall and apply now (Aug 1-Oct.15). THIS IS A ONE TIME ONLY exception and will not be permitted again. It is only permissible if you haven't taken Chemistry not any of the other prereq's.

There was also a huge confusion on which Chemistry is allowed. "CHEM 101 or CHEM 111 is acceptable for transfer and will meet our prerequites."

I am taking Chem 101 through CCCOnline starting Aug. 30 (very expensive with labpaq and books) and have been working on my essay this week. Hope to get my application, transcripts requested, etc. before the class starts so I don't have to think about any of that while taking Chemistry.

Yes! I contacted Ninali after the new req. went up online and she confirmed this for me. I am applying as we speak!!
