Regis- Interview process?

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hi everyone,

I applied for Regis Spring 2011 and I have just received my email saying that I got an interview! Very excited but I am nervous about what the interview is like, I have not done many in my life. Can anyone who has already been accepted shed some light on it? What kinds of questions do they ask? I would like to prepare a little bit before I get there, as I have already been declined from CU, Regis is my top pick now.

Thanks for the help!!

Congrats Rmedin19!!! :yeah: It sounds like you are really excited/relieved/excited!

I got in as well! I just found out this morning on webadvisor, and I saw those glorious two words "accepted conditionally". I am so excited! We will be classmates! :)

Good luck to everyone else on here, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Congrats to you as well. I am sure excited and nervous as well. I want to get my A game back before the program starts. There are definitely a few people I met that I hope are in my class as well.

I am curious as to how people afford the tuition at Regis?

I currently have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, so I have looked at the accelerated program, as well as the Choice program.

$650/credit is like $40,000 for tuition, and then add in living expenses. How are students getting aid here? Is it private student loans, and coming out of school $60,000 in debt?

Thanks,

Yep. I think because of this though they tend to crank out very altruistic nurses (The applicant pool I interviewed with was evidence enough for me). They know they will end up in a large amount of debt and therefore largely filter out people that want to be nurses because of the money and the job security. I think this has contributed to the hiring frenzy for Regis students and also the reputation of Regis as an institution that focuses on not only the skills but the character of a nurse. Sorry about the soap box but I am very excited to be a part of such a wonderful group including the applicants I met and even more, the faculty. Ok, I'm done I promise. he he.

Hey,

I was wondering if those of you who got in to Regis this go around could give me some interview tips. I feel like I did not do as well as I should have the last go around and have another interview in november! Thanks for your advice I really appreciate it!!!

The best advice I can give you is to read the book "The Medical School Interview: Secrets and a System for Success" by Jeremiah Fleenor and make flash cards. This will make sense after you read the book. I prepped for three weeks for that interview. Also, the day or two before your interview look for the questions asked in the interview. Someone last time told me that they were posted on allnurses.com. They should still be around on this site somewhere, but they may change too so check back. Also you will want something to be different on your resume, like a new volunteer experience to address what you thought was a weak point. Hope that helps.
