FRCC Larimer spring 2017

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hi there,

I am going to start nursing program at FRCC Larimer campus spring 2017.

I just moved to Colorado last May and I am pretty much new to everything here.

Luckily, I could transfer all my pre-reqs and done Hesi exam on time then I could apply.

Just wanted know if there is anybody who is going to start same term with me!

PS)Since I live in Thornton, it will be crazy to driving to the campus :(

Hi, RNEMA! Finally see one person here who is going to attend same program with me :)

I was hoping that get into the Westminster for me, because it's only 20min from my house.

And its like 45min to the Larimer without traffic, I'm just hoping it won't be that bad once I get used to.

Well congratulations and I think we will see on the boot camp on January! :)

Yes I think it's about same 45 on Westminster too, not sure though! I know since I am new here, I am kinda scared that I don't know anybody and also for the school too :) I think we are lucky that could get accepted soon as we move here though :)

Well congrats to you as well REINY76. I read that you have a 10 y/o and just moved from Arizona where you lived for 4 years. Can I ask you where you were before AZ? I am sure you will have a lot of friends in this program since there will be a lot of team work and small lab sessions. I work at MCR and PVH and they tell me FRCC is a good program. I was a little disappointed that the orientation day was cancelled. It would have been nice to meet some classmates. I met someone working at FRCC who is going to be in our cohort. Have you taken pathophysiology yet? I am now taking it so I don't have to in the second semester.

RNEMA, I originally came from Korea, I moved USA back in 2004, and I lived in Lexington KY for about 7 years then I moved to Arizona. Yes, I have a 10 year old boy (just had his birthday party today, his birthday was 10th), how about you? are you single or married? I turned 40 this year and this is my second career. I have an associate for graphic design and worked as graphic and web designer for a while.

I loved what I did, but since I had to move around due to my husband job, thought medical field would be much better for me to find a job anywhere, then I started school and I found myself that I really like the study :)

I know they cancelled the orientation, I am little bit concern about amount of time that we can enroll the classes and text books, etc after meeting on January before the actual class start. and yeah I heard the program is good, but I am bit worry about their class completion rate :(

Thanks, I do hope that I will make lots of friends there :)

I took the pathophysiology and I think I knocked out most of classes even for BSN (maybe one I will have to take) except the nursing classes. and once again, I am so glad that I finally find a person who is going to take same journey with me, this is awesome :) Have a great one!

Hi Reiny76..ijust replied but it disappeared! I need to write 15 posts before being able to send you a private message

:) Cool. I just emailed you@

Hello,

I'm sure I probably won't get any responses since this is quite old. I recently completed my hesi with a 92 in bio and a 96 in chem with a 93 overall. I got a 3.57 GPA for the prerequisites, am a resident of larimer county but did not complete A&P 2 before applying. I talked with the nursing admissions coordinator and told her after calculations that I got a 90.5/100 total on ranking criteria. She told me this was an "excellent score!"

After double checking calculations I realized I made a mistake (even though I got a 98 in the math portion of the hesi haha) and I only actually have a 88.6/100. I feel like this is actually a big difference and don't want to admit my error the the coordinator and ask her again if this score is 'good enough'.

I felt like her saying 90.5 was an excellent score almost guaranteed me admission. But I feel like dropping from a 90.5 to an 88.6 my score is no longer excellent and am now nervous about getting in. This is the only school I'm applying for and would love to get in because I live 5 minutes away and have been working at PVH/MCR for almost 2 years as a cardiovascular technician.

Anyway since a few of you have already been in the program for a semester you may have an idea about what others got total on their ranking criteria and can provide me with some reassurance?

thanks!

Hello,

I am currently in AZ, have pre-requisites classes done, interested in FRCC nursing program. What would be the

process on applying while I am currently in AZ? (for those that moved to Colorado and then got into the

program shortly after moving there) Even though the comments/conversation is a year ago.... help?

Krista.

I applied at the Westminster campus and didn't get in--- don't have enough points... how many points did you have... my problem is I haven't taken many classes at FRCC westminster
