Conord Career RN-ADN Aurora Co

U.S.A. Colorado

Hi everyone, Im sure this question has been asked before, but I would like to hear from someone who actually got their education from Concord Career Institute in Aurora CO to take courses to be an RN. Im going to take the wonderlike and the NET on January 09, so that I could get into the courses for the RN-ADN, Im attending a Metro state right now and I cannot wait for other nursing schools since Ive missed the deadlines! so concord is one of the choices I have?! any advise about the school? is it worth it? I DONNOT HAVE TIME or want to take the LPN program since IIm hoping to go through the RN-ADN... would that be okay or do people with an LPN license have a better chance than me getting into the RN program? and has anyone taken my choise of route? or will i be forced to take the LPN classes before I get into the RN-ADN... anyone please answer me!! sorry!!

I am also looking into the RN program.. What are the higher NET scores? Also if you have taken some of those "pre-requisite" classes, what are the standards for it being able to transfer in?

I'm now 1/2 done with the RN program here at Concorde and I'm having a blast! The teachers are excellent, and all my classmates definitely feel we're being well-prepared to be awesome nurses! The program may be expensive, but it's definitely worth it considering the training we are receiving.

As far as the NET, there is a math and a reading comprehension portion, and you have to score 70% or higher to even be considered, then they rank you on your highest composite score as to who gets in. I did a lot of research before I took it, and found somewhere that the higher NET scores are in the 85-90 range. I'd definitely study for it, bring a stopwatch to pace yourself, and remember that once the computer moves to the next page, that page disappears completely!

As far as transferring in classes, for Concorde, you have to have taken the course within the last 10 years (for A+P to transfer in, you need to have taken both courses from the same school). You also have to have gotten at least a C in every course, as at Concorde, you have to pass EVERY class with at least a C or you will have to remediate or be dropped from the program (for Nursing classes, 80-84 = C; 85-94 = B; 95-100 = A!).

Good luck to you, Hannah, in your nursing pursuit! :)

I got a 93% on the math portion so hopefully I will start this April.. I just have to figure out the finance portion but I will have some transfer credits so that should help :) I was told the classes are mon-sat 8-6 but I work 3 12 hour shifts so I'm not sure which nights I would be able to work :p

I just wanted to add to Mark's post earlier. I am also attending Concorde for the RN program. I am in my second term...and like Mark I am loving it! So far my instructors have been great, and I feel I am getting a fabulous education. It is hard, and very, very fast...but at the same time it is a lot of fun! I start my clinicals on Monday, and am looking forward to it. The school is far from perfect, but it is what you make of it. Be dedicated, try hard, and you will be fine. This term my classes are Monday through Friday...Start at 0630 on Mon and Tues...but done at 1430...Weds and Thurs 0800-1730, and 0800 til 1430 on Fridays. A classmate of mine works 2 12 hour shifts (Fri and Sat night) and it is pretty tough for him to get all of the studying done. I also have another classmate who is a full time EMT, and she seems to making it OK...just tired! I guess it depends on how well you can soak up information. Good luck to you!

I was wondering if anyone who has graduated from Concorde has had trouble enrolling in a bridge to BSN/MSN program due to issues with accreditation or credit trasnfers??
