Hi guys! I am planning to take A&P -Bio 202 this summer! Any view about that?

How does the online class work????

Thanks!!!

Pumpkinpie:wink2:

My only experience is with Arapahoe Community College. I took BIO 201 during the summer with T H...the "lecture" was online, lab was once a week with C D. I took BIO 202 on-campus with D L; lecture twice a week/lab once a week, all in the evening.

Please, in the name of all that is holy, do NOT take an online class from T H. The man is a menace. I worked my tail off and got a B. He never outlined WHAT we were supposed to be learning. We were told only to read chapters, and EVERYTHING in those chapters was up for grabs. His tests show basically how quickly you can look stuff up. (He never stated the tests were supposed to be closed-book, or I swear the entire class would have failed.)

If you want to see what questions you got wrong, you have to make an appointment to meet with him in his office so he can scroll (really quickly) through your test to see which ones you got wrong. I did that once. It wasn't worth doing it again. One question I got wrong was, "In order for movement to take place, a joint has to move." I marked "false". He said that was wrong. I said, "Look at me" and batted my eyes quickly at him. I asked, "What joint just moved?" He shrugged and said that he was going to stick with the "answer from the book". So much for teaching critical thinking.

I can't say enough good about C D...everyone who passed my class did so solely because of her. She's FABULOUS. And...of the people who started out in this class, about 40% of them dropped out. It was insane. C's efforts to help us during lab time was the determining factor for a lot of us. She was always willing to go the extra mile.

Taking a lecture class in person with D L was a wonderful, fun, highly informative thing to do. I HIGHLY recommend it. He tells you exactly what you're expected to learn...it's still quite tough, but at least there are no surprises. His lab practicals are a little tougher, mostly because he doesn't set them up. They don't precisely go with what you may have learned in his labs, so I really recommend going to the review sessions before the practicals.

T = BAD :banghead:

D and C = GREAT!!!!! :yeah:

Again, strictly my opinion!

Hey - 2 out of 3 great ones - gives you hope that there's more out there :up:

Hello Penny! Now I have an idea about taking BIO 202 this summer!

That is true GizmosMom!!!!:chuckle

Unfortunatly I have to take 202 online this summer since Front Range Boulder is not offering it at night. I'm scared!

goodluck to you Szyman27! we might even be classmates in ACC if you go there. Don't be scared, but it will be a little crazy though!
