What's the different between patients, resident s & clients?

I know that different places refer the people by different name but I couldn't remember it exactly so can you tell me...

I only remember this one...patients is refer in the Acute care facilities.

How about these two:

* Residents is refer in ____________________________.

* Clients is refer in ____________________________.

Residents is the term usually used for people who "reside" at long term care facilities. Clients are "consumers of health care" as taught in nursing programs.

We were told that residents are those in LTC facilities, patients are those in the hosptial and clients are those in home health situations. Hope that helps!

ummm, i would call clients who i worked with in home health

residents are those that live in a ltc

patients i call those in a hospital that are not there for long term. eg someone that had surgery.

Generally speaking, residents= permanently in the nursing home. Clients= home health. And patients= those in the hospital, home health, or people in a nursing home that are there for short term rehab, respite, or hospice.

A patient is in the hospital

Resident is in a nursing home, long term care, assisted living, as that is there home, short term, but most likely long term

Client is a person that is care for through a home health care agency, a CNA care from them in their home.
