The end of my career?

Got a call today from the person known as "they who punish" and "they who fire". Many people get called in to see them and come back on the floor, many keep going all the way out the door. It could be anything at all and they've been on a firing streak lately. They said they needed to see me right away and no matter what I said would only tell me they won't go into details over the phone. They also wouldn't say anything positive. Freaking great. I told them I'd come in tomm but with the bad weather they just might have to wait another day. I've seen tons of companies do this in the past years from real estate to retail and seen a lot of good people hurt. Why they just can't say on the phone its not working out and instead make you come in for some kind of public punishment is beyond me.

I feel for you-and it is inconsiderate of management. Make sure you clock in so you get paid for your time. Stay positive - If it is the worst - behind the scenes I have known of biggest slakers being kept and someone better being let go because the slacker breaks down and cries like a baby about how they desperatley need the job. It isn't fair, life isn't fair. I don't judge - just do what you have to do.

Sonomala, Im really sorry to hear about the call. Ive actually been reading your posts and following up on you. Lets hope for the best hun. But it is NOT the end of your career. Maybe at that facility, but not as a wonderful CNA. I will pray for you tonight. Lets hope its not bad. If it is, just know that everything happens for a reason. Maybe you losing this job will pave way for a better one, or a better learning experience. Just keep your head up and dont focus on right now, focus on your future and where you want to be. Everything is temporary, so whether you lose it now, or later, its going to happen at some time. Gain your strength and be ready for whatever happens. Keep your head up high and just know that you went into that facility giving your best and if they couldnt see that, then they dont deserve you anyway. Good luck.:heartbeat

Thanks everyone! My meeting was scheduled for this morning but we're in the midst of snow storm so I'm going to have to call and reschedule. Maybe later today, maybe tomm, I'll keep you posted :)

Thanks everyone! I love this board!!!!!!!!! I couldn't make it today, we are totally snowed in. I called and told her, its set up for tomm morning. I'll keep you posted!
