Should I pursue a CNA II certificate?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

I recently passed the CNA I state exam. I plan to become an RN and am slowly working through my pre-req. I also work fulltime(third shift in retail). I am wondering if I should go ahead and get my CNA II so that I can perhaps get a job in a hospital. It doesn't seem that I will be able to get a hospital position in my area with a CNA I. I am wondering if it is a waste of time to pursue the CNA II or if it would be a good move. I am also slightly older and need to get as many credentials as can before I apply to nursing school. Any comments or opinions on this matter will be greatly appreciate.

good for the gold get cna 3 which entails a phlebotomy and an ekg cert. then you get better pay and should have a much wider field you can work in. (i have all 3) and enjoy the variety of stuff i can do in my er. cna 1 usually only does pt. cleaning transports and can only work on the floors. they also get the lowest pay. i think the more complez tasks will be more brain stimulating as well and knowing how to access a vein and deal with varied types ofpts will come in handy in nursing school.

I wonder do they have CNA 2 and 3 certificates in Chicago. I have to look into this or Since I'm taking a CNA class now, should I just take an Pheb class and EKG course? What do you all think?

I am in NC and we only go as far as CNA II nor such thing here as a CNA III here. But I think I will go for the CNA II such for the experience. Thanks
