Salary as a CNA

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Hi all, What can I expect as a fair wage as a CNA. I know it differs from state to state, I am in Tennessee, any help would be appreciated! THANKS! :typing

In my area, CNA starting wage is $12.50-$16.75 in a hospital setting and about $11-$15 in LTC. Salaries vary greatly and are dependent on location, facility, extra certifications, and experience. And, like Stanley said, it's about selling yourself.

what you make really depends on your area and where you work

my boyfriends mom is a CNA with 10 years experience and she works in a hospital, she makes 19.00 dollars a hour

i just got my CNA in may...

got offered a hospital job recently for about 13.00 dollars a hour

and currently working home health i only make 9.00

i live in southern california so the pay is better then most places, but you have to figure if you work in a hospital you will probably make the most and if you work home health will probably be the least.

Hey, im new, but um....basic fresh cna's here in Chicago (the actual city) pay starts around 8.50-9.75 for Nursing facilities and 10ish-18$ hospital, 19-22$ rehab and pct-er-icu tech for hospitals.

The real issue here is you are REQUIRED 6 months experience almost every decent nursing facility and 12 months for any hospital. So you might need to volunteer for 6 months to just get in the door. Luckily I am going to attend a free cna training at a nursing facility that guarantees me a job asap after I receive my state license.

I do wish you luck, but seriously don't choose to be a cna if your in it for the money. That always ends up bad.
