My First Resident!

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

Specializes in LTC, DD.

Hi Everyone!!

I just wanted to annouce that I had my first resident and I did my first bed bath.I was so nervous going in and I was so shocked that I just..did it. She was wonderful. Unfortunatetly, she had tested positive for MRSA and it was like a sauna working in the gown/gloves, etc.

Anyway, I know it's just one thing and I have a lot to go, but I figured I'd post this to let other nervous students know that the things that seem terrifying are really not that bad at all. It's a completely different ball game when you're in there with the person and you are helping them as a whole, not as the body part that needs care.

Everyone who has posted on this board in response to my any of my threads has been so helpful, and I really appreciate all the advice and wisdom because it really did help me when I walked into the room.:redbeathe

That's all for now I guess,
