How to go about transferring floors...?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Hi,

I'm a tech and will be starting nursing school in two weeks. I have decided to keep working in my hospital tech position one day a week, my minimum for a per diem. However, i was working out last week and pulled a neck muscle and for the last week and a half I have been requesting to sit for patients. After a few days of this my manager caught wind and I heard she talked to the charges and tech to make me be on the floor! All i wanted was two weeks (of three days) sitting! she is very mean to talk to and I'm very with it and feel i am a good asset to her floor being in the RN program. I have long wanted to transfer to the other floor with a nice manager and now i must. HOw do i go about this email the other manager talk to my evil condescending one? Any advice would be great!

At my hospital you first go to Human Resources and file a transfer form and indicate what unit you would like to attend. Then you go to the manager of the desired unit and discuss any opening avaliable and why you are interested. Tell him/her that you feel you have learned everything you can from that unit and its' staff and seeing as how you are in nursing you feel you would be broaden your horizons by coming to this unit. Good Luck... I know what it feels like to have a manager like that
