CNA Examn - Skills testing?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Hi everyone!

I would first like to say that any information is helpful and that I really appreciate it.

I have been studying for my Kansas CNA certification test (which I have on Friday), and as I was looking for some free practice tests, I noticed that a few states require skills testing during the exam. This makes me really nervous! I would just like any input on if Kansas requires this part of the test so that I can get myself prepared. Overall, I am very comfortable and I think I will do well, but having to test on certain skills that a CNA will complete makes me awfully nervous!

If it helps I am taking the test through Allen County Community College.

Thanks!

I live in CA but im pretty sure that in all states there is two parts to the test written and skills Im surprised they didnt tell you in your class ....but if they didnt tell you about the skills maybe its not required

You should defintly call and find out....... they should give you a skill sheet with all the skills and steps so you can practice

Thank you! I was planning on calling so I guess I will just do that :) Thank you again!

Did you find out?

Apparently it is only a written test. I find that odd that some states require a skills section and we do not. I do not know how every other CNA course is, but we did have to complete a check list during our clinicals and the instructor had to be present in order for us to have each skill checked off. Soo maybe that was our skills section? Anyways, thank you for your response. I really do appreciate it!

wow lucky you!

Our skills are the same as yours they are done in the lab or field setting. You do not pass unless you get the skill done right and checked off my someone.

I am doing my first lab this saturday... Its all itty bitty stuff like hand washing and PPE's....But Im still nervous...They say they are strict. Which they should be. Its just nerve racking.
