Hi to all,
I have read some of the other threads but could not find one that answered my question. I have also posted this question in the specialty forum. Here goes...
I have been a nurse for 15 years, did a little med/surg starting out, but most background is in public health, oncology and clinical research. I am going back to school to get my MSN, and would like to pursue a career in wound care. It encompasses everything that I love - physiology, infectious disease, education, public health...
I am currently in an adult NP program, but not very satisfied with the school. My question is: what is the best way to achieve my end goal of direct patient care as well as patient and staff education (and research is there is any time left over...)
Do I stay adult NP? or switch to CNS? Are most advanced practice RNs that work in wound care NPs or CNSs?
well you get the picture...i'm trying to choose my path carefully so as not to invest time and $$ in something that will not get me where I want to go.
Thanks for any help, advice, etc. anyone has to give!:heartbeat
