Transfer Credit Help!!!

Hello All!!! I am Jeanae' and I am new to the group. I stalk this site often but just now decided to register. I was wondering for those that have been accepted into the Chamberlain program with transfer credits, how long did it take you to complete your BSN? How many credits did you transfer? I plan on taking every single pre req that I can at my local community college but I was just curious about how much time that would shave off of the program once I can hopefully get accepted.

I transferred many classes to the college and I am set to finish around July 2017 - as long as i do not repeat any course. Transferring the classes cut around one year from the program for me. Taking as many classes as you can through a community or technical college is certainly the best way to go.

Thanks for your response Angela. How many hours did you transfer and how long will it be from start to finish for you? When you applied how lucky my did it take you to get a response? Were you on the wait list for anytime? I'm so sorry to ask so many questions. I'm just curious About how the process is. I'm hoping I will be able to apply in March.

Hope your classes are going well at Chamberlain.

Please what is a typical weekly schedule like for the nursing classes? I have all gen eds done already, so I'm looking at taking only the nursing classes when I start.

Hi

Everyone's schedule is different regardless of taking nursing classes or additional general ed classes.

If all your general education classes transfer then that would be great. Not all of mine did.

I am currently taking three classes. Two of which are nursing classes (1 day lecture+1day lab for each class). My third class is online. With my schedule I am in school 3 days per week. Some people with a similar schedule come in 3-4 days per week for classes, it really varies per student.

Have you already completed an application? Interview? HESI?

Yes, I have completed all the above and have been accepted, and I'm hoping for a spring start. Tentatively, my nursing classes will be one per session as I transferred in a lot of credits, and all my gen eds transferred in too which hopefully should reduce my tuition :uhoh3:, fingers crossed. I am excited and nervous :-)

Oh that's awesome- Congratulations! Yes I am sure that it will reduce it a great deal.

When you start your class be sure to make use of ALL the benefits detailed in your handbook. You will realize that there is sooooooo much support and many tools offered to us students.
