Chamberlain College of Nursing Jacksonville

  1. 0 The first school I tried attending didn't work out. I haven't seen much information on this particular school so I decided to track my journey. I applied last week and got the call for acceptance yesterday. In all honesty this was my last option to be in an accredited nursing school. I had been denied five times from three different school but thanks to God, hard work, and determination I am one step closer to my dream. I don't have the best GPA and I made an 81 on the hesi. I start May 6 I'm nervous and excited. I'll keep future students posted on my journey.

So I just got back from orientation and it was quite long. It was VERY interesting. I was nervous and excited all at the same time. It got me ready to start school tomorrow. There were a lot of speakers and a lot of information (four hours worth). I hardly remember everything but I'm just so excited. The main thing I've gathered is that nursing school is not your typical learning process. Throughout prerequisites I basically memorized everything I needed to know then forgot everything so I need to pick up new study habits. All in all it was great I'm excited and I'm just ready to start.

I see that now lol. For my next 8 weeks i'm trying to take patho 2, heath & wellness, and cultural diversity. Does anyone attending Chamberlain think this is to much? My advisor said she doesn't think I should take those together.

No I think you should be fine. I took health assessment fundamentals and patho one all together! Wanted to die! You'll be fine with those.

I'm heading there tomorrow to take my HESI. I'm so overly nervous lol. I took the NLN pre-entrance exam at a school in Virginia (and passed with flying colors) so here's hoping that I'll do well on the HESI too. How do you all like attending Chamberlain? I am trying to get in to the September start date, and only have 1 semester of "pre-reqs" before I start my core nursing classes so I should only have a little over 2 years to go!

It's nice but this is only my first 8 weeks. They have a lot of people to help you along the way. I am in your situation I'm supposed to graduate in a little over 2 years but I'm trying to do it in a year and six months. How did you do on you Hesi?

I did really well! It only took me a little over 2 hours and it was MUCH easier than I thought it would be. They said that my score was really good, and I would hear back by the end of the week whether or not I've been accepted, but I don't see why I wouldn't be. I'm just SO ready to go back to school and get my degree.
