Also, do I need to renew my CPR card before starting the program?

No, you will not need your card before starting the program...they will give you a deadline of when you should have it done, as well as your immunizations/titers done in order to be ready for clinicals.

Thank you for your response! I had asked my adviser but she just told me I would get all that information at orientation.

Hello everyone!!! I'm not thinking of applying until April or later for the Sept starting term. Should I wait until then or can I apply now? I'm not starting until Sept because I'm taking the last of my classes at a community college that will apply towards Chamberlain. I'm trying to save as much money as possible going this route. I won't have time to study for the Hesi while taking these other classes. I had heard that as soon as one applies to Chamberlain you immediately have to schedule yr Hesi. Is this true or can I stretch the test date out? I'd like to apply now and take the Hesi in August after summer classes. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance ladies....:)

It's best to apply now because and get it out the way. The classes are filling up fast. I took and passed my HESI on Feb 19. I was just deemed academically eligible yesterday. so pending my background check and drug screen (which will be fine) I will be accepted for the May start date. And it's true that as soon as you apply they will schedule you for your HESI and let me tell you, that classroom was FULL when I went to take mine. So yes you may want to consider going ahead and applying cause spots will fill up quickly.

Thx for yr reply except I'm trying for Sept not May. Which means if I apply now I have to take the Hesi now and I can't study for that right now. :( how was the Hesi by the way? How long did u study? What did u use to study with?

The HESI was fairly easy for me being that I just finished school to become an LPN last April. So all the math( which was pretty much basic) and the reading and comprehension, the anatomy and physiology, and biology was pretty much review for me.. I didn't do any studying but I did see people with a HESI exam textbook when I went to take my test. I passed with an 87 on the first try. But good luck and I really advise you to go ahead and start the process. The HESI covers basic material, you'll do fine!!!

Since your in school now it should not be hard for you. Like she said it is fairly easy. I had to review over math just to make sure I set up equations the right way. They only pull your grade from math, English, and comprehension I believe. The science isn't included in your score.

I am taking NR-222 with Professor ******* online and PSYC-285N with Professor ******** online starting in the March session. I was curious as to what to expect in these classes? What do I need to know in order to pass both, especially NR-222?

NR-222 is OK I would say read your book. Answer and read all content questions for the chapters assigned before taking the exams. The content questions help out a lot for the exams. I just finished that class for the January session and i made a 90. The exams are NCLEX styled so that may be something to get used to. Overall its a good class and sets the foundation for health assess, fundamentals, and patho which I am taking for March.
