What are SRNA's learning/performing today?

I don't think I'm wrong that SRNA's are learning a lot more skills then they used to. I'd just like to know what kinds of skills you SRNA's are performing in the OR, and when you are performing them in the scheme of your education? How did you feel putting in your first IJ? Intubation? Were your superiors supportive? Did you feel overwhelmed by all the skills you were learning? Also, I understand that some schools teach more skills than others.

Thanks.

Personally I have not performed a single procedure on a living person yet. I have however been exposed to content covering

Regional anesthesia

Central lines

Arterial lines

airway management

pain management

spinals

epidurals

airway blocks

I have to say, I am a little nervous about pulling it all together come clinicals. I wish sometimes I had integrated clinicals, but then i think about not having to go to classes in addition to clinicals, and it seems worth it.

Our program is presenting all of this material like we will be doing it all on a regular basis. there have been no precedures or cases that we have asked about that they have said we would have a hard time aquiring experience with. Now reality may refute their assertions, but the class ahead of me assures me its true, we will do all that they taught us. Persoanally I am not to psyched to try my first anterior aproach to the sciatic nerve, but I will do it when called upon.
